In Deception, he upgrades to a Cool Helmet as part of the armor of a long-lost Cryomancer.
Cool Mask: In II, 4, Deadly Alliance (as an alt.), and 9, then X.
A similar change takes place in the reboot: he begins as a loyal assassin who also wants to avenge his brother, then rebels against the idea of the Cyber Ninjas, breaks off from the Lin Kuei as a result, and later reforms the whole clan. From there his character evolves greatly and becomes one of the most morally aware characters of the series, even taking over his former clan to lead them in a more righteous direction.
Character Development: In the MK1- MKA timeline, he started out as a silent assassin in II, but when the Lin Kuei becomes interested in cybernetics in 3, he splits because he disagrees with the methodology.
Cain and Abel: Upon discovering Noob Saibot's identity as his elder brother reincarnated, Noob has been trying to kill him.
The reboot implies that they are fully Chinese, though.
But Not Too Foreign: Like his brother, in the original timeline he was American on his mother's side, Chinese-Cryomancer on his father's.
Breaking the Fourth Wall: He shoots ice towards the players in MK9, freezing the screen.
In the reboot, he occasionally pulls out an ice sword for combos, but it's much smaller and less intricate.
BFS: The Kori Blade, his weapon style in Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon, is a large sword made of ice.
Bald of Awesome/ Badass Long Hair: His alt.
He manages to convince Scorpion of this and they go forth to take on entire armies for vengeance.
Back-to-Back Badasses: In his MK 9 Arcade ending, Raiden tells him the truth about what happen to his and Scorpion's families due to the Lin Kuei.
In Mortal Kombat X he's not only Older and Wiser and back to humanity, but he's even more badass as well, especially when he readily defeats the four Second Gen warriors ( and lectures them on their flaws) and in his ending where he finds and tames two Dragons. Additionally in Mortal Kombat 9 he handily wipes the floor with Scorpion (who bested his brother), and then as a cyborg he thrashes both GORO AND KINTARO at once.
Badass: He's generally shown to be among the strongest of the heroic characters.
PAGES WILL BE DELETED OTHERWISE IF THEY ARE MISSING BASIC MARKUP. DON'T MAKE PAGES MANUALLY UNLESS A TEMPLATE IS BROKEN, AND REPORT IT THAT IS THE CASE. THIS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW, REPORT ANY ISSUES TO Janna2000, SelfCloak or RRabbit42. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace.
All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples.
Pages that don't do this will be subject to deletion, with or without explanation. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup.
All images MUST now have proper attribution, those who neglect to assign at least the "fair use" licensing to an image may have it deleted.
Failure to do so may result in deletion of contributions and blocks of users who refuse to learn to do so.
